As you may have noticed, FashionistaTalk has gone through some major changes in the past little while. One of its biggest and most exciting development is coming soon. Can’t wait to share it with you! This tweed collared jacket and super tiny matching shorts are a relatively new addition to my collection. I’m rediscovering tweed this fall so stay tuned.
Tank top
striped hats
Here is another post of sailor-girl styling. This time, the nautical stripes come in red-and-white as well. This Tracy Watts hat is fun and light, but the moment you let it go it covers the entire face. I might have to pin it next time.
vested interest
This is what I wore to class today. It got a little chiller the past two days so I had to give silk dresses a rest – albeit a very short one. I have a contracts mid-term coming up in a week so my posts will likely be a little short on words but I’ll do something special on FashionistaTalk after it’s over. Maybe an extra giveaway? We’ll see…
reminiscent
I spent the entire day on set yesterday and while I wasn’t able to take picture in costume, I snapped some shots with my iphone in 60s hair and makeup. The clothes in the pictures are of what I wore on the way to set, before changing into wardrobe – casual and simple. After they finished with me in the hair and makeup truck, I spent as long as I possibly could in my own clothes because I knew that once that stretch-less, fitted, vintage dress comes on, that’s it for my sense of comfort. It was within this time window that this mini-photo-shoot took place. So in a way, by default, this post ends up being a marriage of the vintage and the contemporary; the old and the new.
colour splash to work
This colour-happy look is what I wore to work yesterday. The Line, cashmere / modal cardigans is one of my most recent purchases. I bought a few in different colours because I feel that cardigans in general are some of the most essential and satisfying items to have an abundance of. No matter where you live (geographically), layering a sort cardi over your dress, tank, or blouse, makes evenings and air-conditioned spaces instantaneously cozier. Some readers have asked me to dedicate a post to wardrobe essentials for those who want to redefine their style, and it will be coming soon. But until then, I can just tell you that starting with a black, simple cardigan that you love is very helpful; with time, you can add more colourful cardi options that will complete your looks both stylistically and practically.
