All of your sweet birthday wishes sent out so much positive energy into the universe that my b-day turned out amazingly, despite the intense moving preparations and general craziness of my last day in Toronto. The day started with a birthday brunch at a creperia, followed by unavoidable hours of packing and case reading, and ended with dinner and drinks on McCaul St. I love starting new, often challenging to follow traditions like celebrating each one of my birthdays in a new country and in a new dress. I broke with tradition this year with the whole country thing, but my dress was brand-spanking new and shiny, so it sort of counts.

I wore this check asymmetrical tunic for a bite to eat in the Distillery District. I’m not quite sure why but I love the combination of checks or stripes with red accent accessories. It’s probably the whole nautical vibe of it that gets me – so classic yet fresh.

I spent the entire day running errands yesterday and this is the casual little outfit I did it in. I’ll be flying out around 4 and there is still more packing to be done. my summer ride
I submitted this picture for the Moxsie Sweet Summer Style contest on chictopia. The whole premise behind the contest was to show what your favourite Summer stapes are and how you keep cool in the heat. When I first read what was required I immediately knew that I could contribute because I’m something of a “heat junkie.” The temperature outside can rarely be too high for me and I crave the hottest of the summer days. I’m not sure if this has anything to do with the matter, but part of the explanation could be the fact that I’m a fire sign (Leo). But zodiac aside, when I was asked to describe how I stay stylish through the summer this is what I wrote:
