This post captures moments from the “second activity” I mentioned in the last post – parusing museums and galleries with my mom over the break. It was so nice to have my photographer back, the funniest photographer alive. Your sense of humour makes forms, shapes, and colors in art that much more fascinating.

couture adventures of 2010
I had some extra time on my hands today so I decided to put together this special “adventures of 2010″ post. Basically, I compiled some of the couture I added to my collection this past year and juxtaposed my looks against the pieces in their element – the runway. As a way of contextualizing some of what you’re seeing, I also included the location of where the item was worn. This whole endeavour was pretty time consuming so I hope you like it.
high contrast
I took a break from studying on Saturday and dropped by a few stores for some necessities. That was by far the most guilt-induced shopping experience I’ve ever had. All I could think about was doing more practice question and memorizing cases. I guess shopping will have to wait until winter break…talk about self discipline

a day in LA
My friend Alex and I spent the entire day in downtown LA yesterday. The day started with us driving around the same block about 3 times because our GPS apparently thought it was still in NY. Whenever we travel to new places we use the site urbanspoon for rankings of best restaurants in the city, and a place called Starry Kitchen was on top of the list. It was exactly this “talk-of-the-town” establishment that we sacrificed our morning looking for and after we finally found it, they were just closing. But the staff of the restaurant was so nice that they just gave us two main courses of free to-go food, which was delicious; not a bad way to be welcomed to a new city. The rest of the day mostly involved walking, stopping to take pictures and eat a taco, and then continue walking. Apparently there isn’t all that much to do in downtown LA but it was still fun. I couldn’t get those 2 Pac lyrics out of my head, “California knows how to party (knows how to party).”
ready for the check-up
It’s my brother’s birthday today so I spent most of the morning running errands, like buying a cake, drinks, and some last minute essentials for the party. Today’s look is a few days old and I wasn’t sure whether to post it, but since I’ll be busy with my bro for the day, here they are…
