I am going through something of a “Foley + Corinna” phase – buying their dresses online in anticipation of the sunny season to come. I also noticed a behavioral pattern emerging in the way that I deal with new additions to my wardrobe. I can’t seem to be able to resist wearing the new piece for the earliest possible occasion. For instance, I went out for drinks at Santana Row last night and felt compelled to wear a dress that came in the mail that same day. It’s almost like I had no choice in the matter; the urge was beyond me and I just had to make it work.

The wonderful people at Stop Staring sent me this adorable, vintage inspired dress that I wore to the theatre in San Fran this weekend. As I was looked through their site for the first time, I was pleasantly surprised at how feminine and body-conscious the dresses are. While the head designer at Stop Staring, Alicia Estrada, prides herself on “embracing and celebrating female form,” she also manages to make her pieces very comfortable. The stretchiness of the fabric made wearing this polka-dot, belted number very enjoyable. A playful option for girls with an appreciation for retro-contemporariness.

I finally feel like I figured Seoul out – moved to an apartment in Gangnam (arguably the most central and happening part of the city), fixed my iPhone after dropping it in the toilet, found a quality neighbourhood dry-cleaners and sauna, figured out the transportation system, and found some great coffee shops and restaurants close to the firm. I’m afraid to even say this for fear of jinxing something, but I think I’m finally settled in this city they call “The Soul of Asia” – the second largest city in the world after Tokyo. Finding my way through it has been really empowering and gratifying. Ironically enough, I only have until the end of the month to enjoy living here without having to worry about all of what I listed above, but it still feels wonderful to have done it on my own.

These pictures are from one of our many clubbing nights in Tokyo. I know that my blog pictures are lagging behind my..well..actual life, but I can barely keep up myself.

The other day we visited the geek central of the world – Akihabara Electric Town (Aka, Akiba). That’s were you go if you need some nifty little gadget or some ‘super exciting stuff’ like electrical parts, wires, or microsized cameras. But for those of us who would rather go through wisdom teeth removal than dig though a box of wires, Akiba still has a lot more to offer. To me, the greatest thing about this part of Tokyo is its energy. It feels…I don’t know…FAST.

Arrived in Tokyo, and took my first and last cab ride to the hotel. 24,000yen is way too expensive for a student’s budget! Felt like my stress level was rising with the meter!!! And, since I measure everything in dresses that works out to about two I just lost forever. These pics are from a rainy daytrip to Kamakura where the Great Buddha, and several shrines are located. A lot of walking, but well worth it. Coincidently, the last time I wore this dress was in L.A. and I ended up hiking barefoot in the mud. As the deafening silence of the library room and the double vision from excessive reading begin to shut down my senses, I can look down at the pattern of the dress and it completely finishes the job…leads to official loss of sanity .

Marry Christmas dear fashionistas. Hope you’re all having awesome holidays. I wore this comfy H&M dress to a hookah lounge a few days ago, which was perfect considering its loose fit and ‘inexpensiveness.’ I could bum around in it without worrying about pulls or snags in the fabric. It’s kind of strange, but on a subconscious level, I think it’s only natural for polyester to get abused – that’s how fond I am of the fabric . Anyway, do it up my darlings – life is too short to be understated!
