I am going through something of a “Foley + Corinna” phase – buying their dresses online in anticipation of the sunny season to come. I also noticed a behavioral pattern emerging in the way that I deal with new additions to my wardrobe. I can’t seem to be able to resist wearing the new piece for the earliest possible occasion. For instance, I went out for drinks at Santana Row last night and felt compelled to wear a dress that came in the mail that same day. It’s almost like I had no choice in the matter; the urge was beyond me and I just had to make it work.

violet to school
This is what I’m wearing to school today. One of my classes was cancelled so I have a whole hour and fifteen minutes of edumacation today. My professor just walked in the door so I gotta run. Have a wonderful day everybody.
a touch of sequin
One of my new evening favourites is the combination of sequin and silk. The matte top balances out the sparkly skirt with a few long necklaces for that extra touch of accessory goodness. The slight sheerness in the silk adds the feeling of lightness without being overly revealing. It’s all about balance.
in light of…
My finals are coming up in a few weeks so, as you can imagine, my life is pretty much dominated by four main subjects: (1) criminal law, (2) torts, (3) contracts, and (4) civil procedure. Yum! Anyway, this is one of my looks from Cuba which, in light of the present one-sidedness of my life, remind me of the days when I had the luxury of entertaining thoughts of aesthetics, visual harmony, and all that good stuff. I can’t wait for that luxury again!
special treats
I kept hearing over orientation that in the process of studying (which takes up most of day) we will need to take breaks and relax our minds by doing something enjoyable; something to look forward to as a reward for a a completed task. As you could have probably guessed, working on the blog will be my reward. I finished my contracts readings for today and now I can share this next look with you with a clear conscience. I went from the Uniform Commercial Code on to these playful chiffon frills – how is that for a distraction.
