I could hardly breathe in my Cigarette Girl costume because of the crazy corset but I loved playing this character for a night. Twenties were a stylish period.

tweed revolution
As you may have noticed, FashionistaTalk has gone through some major changes in the past little while. One of its biggest and most exciting development is coming soon. Can’t wait to share it with you! This tweed collared jacket and super tiny matching shorts are a relatively new addition to my collection. I’m rediscovering tweed this fall so stay tuned.
tulip prada
I was lucky to have gotten away from studying last week for a night of ballet in San Francisco. George Balanchine’s Coppelia was a beautiful show – its lightheartedness a refreshing departure from the drama and tragedy of opera I so willingly subject myself to. I wore my new tulip Prada dress for this occasion. In a matter of one night we became pretty acquainted: first in the rain, then on the train, and finally at the ballet.
a touch of sequin
One of my new evening favourites is the combination of sequin and silk. The matte top balances out the sparkly skirt with a few long necklaces for that extra touch of accessory goodness. The slight sheerness in the silk adds the feeling of lightness without being overly revealing. It’s all about balance.
forms, shapes, and colors
This post captures moments from the “second activity” I mentioned in the last post – parusing museums and galleries with my mom over the break. It was so nice to have my photographer back, the funniest photographer alive. Your sense of humour makes forms, shapes, and colors in art that much more fascinating.
