Now that summer is officially over its time to step into fall. What better way to do that than in something inspired and daring. This post is meant to provide some material for you ladies to work with. It comprises my favourite looks from the Fall 2011 Collections of some of my favourite designers. It also lists prominent trends for the season below the images. Enjoy my lovelies.

toronto breeze
Toronto to Tokyo and at the subways again. The fashion in Tokyo is amazing, so diverse (pics coming soon.) These pics are from a daytrip in Toronto with my bestie Alissa and her beautiful baby. I love Alissa’s flowy maxi wrap skirt. It’s perfect for a summer day where it’s too cold for a short or leg-baring skirt but a little too warm for pants. I especially love the bohemian, hippie-esque vibe of this style.
moroccan valentines
My dear brother and our friend Josh took me out to a Moroccan restaurant/lounge for Valentine’s Day and it was fabulous. Being thousands of miles away from home, I am so lucky to have spent the night with people who love me. It was a night of belly dancing, yummy food, hookah, good conversation, and a lot of laughs. I later got a chance to take a bunch of balloons back to my apartment and wake up in a cloud of hearts floating above my head. Magical
. Thank you guys!
sangria
The beautiful weather, dad’s steaks, my mom’s delicious cooking , and the bucket size dish of sangria quickly turned Taras’s birthday get together into a lively barbecue fiesta. Taras modified the recipe for the sangria, with the base being comprised of rhubarb compote (fresh from the garden) – sort of a Russian take on a Spanish classic. He then added gin, red wine, maple syrup, and lots of raspberries. You could tell it was made with love…insanely delicious. The sangria just kept pouring and pouring to the sound of the Buena Vista Social Club. If it wasn’t for all the leaf trees I might have forgotten for moment that I was in Canada.
a day of Italian Vogue
Today’s post is a product of just that – a day of looking through Italian Vogue magazines my parents brought back from their last trip to Europe. I’ve been meaning to put this extravagant monstrosity of a dress to use ever since my impulsive purchase a few years ago. Well I guess that the purchase wasn’t entirely impulsive considering that I was quite aware of the dress’s impracticality and flamboyance. I knew that it was bound to be one of those eternally-neglected-items in my closet, but to me it was still interesting and unique enough to outweigh the gloom of the inevitable. I did use it for this shoot after all, and when I look at today’s pictures I begin to fall in love with it all over again. It’s my kind of monstrosity
.
