I’m also pretty excited about having a day off work tomorrow.  I plan on spending it at one of the biggest sauna/spas in Seoul. It will be a day of mud masks, steam, heat, and cold pools. This colourful look is what I wore for a quiet, traditionally Japanese dinner in Tokyo. p.s. I bought this fuchsia silk scarf on my vintage shopping venture I told you about earlier.

But for those of us who would rather go through wisdom teeth removal than dig though a box of wires, Akiba still has a lot more to offer.  To me, the greatest thing about this part of Tokyo is its energy. It feels…I don’t know…FAST.

Ever since I came back from Vegas a few days ago, it’s been all about recovery and rejuvenation.  Celebrating the completion of our 1st year with my classmates in Vegas was a blast but it left me in a state of serious post-party laziness. I found myself having to soak in some vitamin D long enough to recharge my batteries.

PS. I wish I had some pictures to share with you from my trip but I got a little carried-away in the festivities :) .

Only as soon as I just about finished with my set up it started raining. Um, so now I’m inside…still hoping that my dream could materialize today.

P.S. That blanket is actually wrapped around me at this very moment.

There might be little correlation between “contract formation” and this festive beaded dress, but getting out of the mindset of the former made me want to wear the latter. To me this is a quintessential vacation/party dress – short, bright, and bouncy.

But I still want to show some beach looks for the lucky fashionistas for whom there might be a prospect of coconuts and hammocks in the near future. For the last couple of trips I started including a few one-piece-bathing-suits for variety, which come in  handy on the days when you might want to take it easy with the tanning and would rather lounge around in the shade. Throw a sheer or knitted top over it and wrap a scarf into a turban, and you are ready for a day of poolside glam.

Немного странно выставлять на ваше обозрение образы с Кубы. О! Как они далеки от моего нынешнего стиля жизни!  Но всё-же, это может быть интересно тем фэшионисткам, для которых кокосы и гамаки – явления ближащего будущего. В последнюю мою поездку прихватила с собой цельный купальник , для разнообразия, в случае, если захочется, отдохнуть от солнца и полежать в тени. Достаточно накинуть сверху купальника вязанную, в крупную дырочку тунику, замотать тюрбаном шарф на голове и всё, бездельничай себе гламурненько у бассеина в своё же удовольствие.

Actually, the moment that I abandoned my preconceived notions of what vacation clothes should look like is the moment that packing for my trip became truly fun. This time around, as long as it had a looser silhouette, was made of light natural fabrics, and wasn’t some couture treasure I valued more than life, I gave it serious “could-this-work?” consideration. This loose, vintage, silk, shirt meets all this criteria but would’ve likely been neglected in the past. You’d be surprises how much perfect “beach clothes” is in your wardrobe. Next time you’re packing for a vacation, give that silk blouse, shall, or dress a second look. It might be part of your next favorite beach get-up.

Did you guys hear about the whole Lanvin for H&M thing? How genius…the countdown begins!!!

Последняя поездка на Карибы показала,что когда дело доходит до сбора чемоданов для каникул в тропиках, ключ к успешному подбору подходящей  для этого одежды  является в самом  подходе к этому процессу. Кстати, с момента, освобождения от своих предвзятых представлений , каковой должна быть одежда для каникул, сборы для поездки превратились в настоящее удовольствие. На сей раз, если вещь имела свободный силуэт, выполнена из легких, натуральных тканей, и не относилась сокровищам couture,(чтобы я дорожила ими больше жизни), она попадала в категорию» С чем это можно надеть?»  Эта свободная, шелковая рубашка соответствует всем вышеупамянутым  критериям, но, вероятно, пренебреглась бы мною в прошлом. С таким подходом вы будите приятно удивленны, сколько идеальной для пляжа одежды, находится в вашем платяном шкафу.
