These pictures were taken in Toronto on a hot, humid day. But in the last seven days in Tokyo I have become acquainted with humidity on an entirely different level. Natural fabrics that breath are essential in this climate because everything is sticky as it is. I also never leave the hotel without a pair of flats in my bag because no matter how comfortable you might be with walking in heels, exploring a new city is sweeter when the feet are happy. Ps. I handed in my essay to Prof. Taniguchi and heard a cute quote from my friend Jessica that I wanted to share with you – “An essay should be like a woman’s skirt, long enough to cover the subject, but short enough to make it interesting.” Lol, love it!

electric blue
The weather was so beautiful while we were preparing for exams that I remember picturing myself by the pool as soon as exams were over. I pictured a bright bikini, a large hat, mohitos, and something festive playing in the background. Well I tried that today, with my Michael Kors straw tote in hand and everything else I described. Only as soon as I just about finished with my set up it started raining. Um, so now I’m inside…still hoping that my dream could materialize today.
one down…two to go
My first year of law school is officially a wrap! I can hardly believe it. It has definitely been ‘an experience’ and I don’t think I’ll ever be the same after this emotional roller coaster of a year. Today is going to be about getting my apartment in order, laundry, putting the books away, and packing. Time to start my next adventure

cardigan season
I wore this casual look for brunch last Saturday. Fall in California is a beautiful thing because I can pretty much wear a cardigan over my summer clothes and call it an outfit. Its so refreshingly easy.

For the past two weeks of school I’ve been consumed by a few dominating emotions – excitement and anxiety. From what I could see, I was far from the only first-year-law-student stuck in this exhausting state. In the fear of completely digressing from the subject of the blog, I will just say that the first weeks of law school are an experience in themselves. As you can imagine, my daily looks in the course of those weeks naturally reflected a lot of how I felt; they were rushed and simpler than usual. Well I must have had some unconscious accumulation of creativity throughout as well because, today after class, mom and I just looked at each other and new that “it’s time!” We got into the car and drove to Santa Cruz for this mini-shoot.
