I spent this long weekend at a Santa Cruz beach house with my boyfriend, Danny, and a few friends of ours. I’ve been feeling a little spoiled lately…and enjoying every second of it. Despite the apparent casualness of Santa Cruz, I still managed to squeeze in a floor-grazing maxi – with its silhouette relaxed enough for leisurely daytime outings. Have you heard the term maxi-nista before? I think it might apply to me.
bangles
season’s essentials
The wonderful people at Sugalips sent me this crochet black mini which I paired with bronze layered bangles and suede boots. For me, wearing a chunky cardigan over a simple, soft dress has become one of this winter’s most ‘go to’ combos. California is definitely changing the way I approach the season and brands like Sugarlips help this influence materialize itself.
violet to school
This is what I’m wearing to school today. One of my classes was cancelled so I have a whole hour and fifteen minutes of edumacation today. My professor just walked in the door so I gotta run. Have a wonderful day everybody.
summer tones
These pictures were taken in Toronto on a hot, humid day. But in the last seven days in Tokyo I have become acquainted with humidity on an entirely different level. Natural fabrics that breath are essential in this climate because everything is sticky as it is. I also never leave the hotel without a pair of flats in my bag because no matter how comfortable you might be with walking in heels, exploring a new city is sweeter when the feet are happy. Ps. I handed in my essay to Prof. Taniguchi and heard a cute quote from my friend Jessica that I wanted to share with you – “An essay should be like a woman’s skirt, long enough to cover the subject, but short enough to make it interesting.” Lol, love it!
fringe play
My Toronto trip is coming to an end so I’m running around all day in preparation for my next destination. For this errand-running-mission, I paired comfortable Lida Baday pants with a loose Brunello Cucinelli top that mom bought me while I was in Cali. The boho-chic fringe bag is so over the top that it takes center stage, as I imagine will often be the case in upcoming looks. That’s a lot of fringe for a little bag, which should look interesting with a maxi.
