Apparently the term ‘structure clothing’ is no longer used in fashion vernacular because of its negative connotation.  I read that consumers associate the word ‘structure’ with something that is artificial or constructed and therefore undesirable.  Wires and other structural elements are still being used in the creation of dresses but the industry propounds names like ‘bodycon’ or ‘bandage’ to describe the same silhouettes.  Personally I love structured pieces regardless of the name.  Bags, dresses, tops…  They tend to look vintage-inspired and luxe.
