Remember when I made the peach skirt remix post and said that I was going to the Boldt Castle in the Thousand Islands region, well I made today’s mini-movie from some of the pictures from that visit. While walking around its grounds, I found this interesting little tower that, from the inside, was lit so beautifully that I just had to make something dramatic out of it. Of course the feeling of romance and tragedy that so strongly permeates within the atmosphere of the Boldt Castel (mostly because of its history) also helped the matter a little. The hollowness of this fairy-tail-like tower inspired feeling of estrangement that I think transferred into some of these shots quite nicely.
What I’m wearing:
- Silk maxi skirt from “Club Monaco” (last seen in July 5′10)
- Chiffon top by “Marciano”
- Straw hat by “Holt Renfrew”
- Gold strappy sandals by “Sergio Rossi” (last seen in July 5′10)
- Crystal heart ribbon necklace
- 2 chunky chain rings by “Luc Kieffer” (last seen in June 24′10)
- Sunglasses by “Missoni” (last seen in July 5′10)

love this!
Thank you
The lighting is beautiful, Lida, and your little movie is oh! so romantic.
It's so nice to hear this positive feedback about the little movies because it gives me so much more creative freedom to know that presenting the pics in this fashion is interesting to you guys.
Thank you dear Reallin,
Love Lida
I love your photos, each and every time you manage to portray magical moments and invoke powerful emotions.
Just out of curiosity, who is this maestro behind the camera?
Oh I'm so glad you like them. My mom took these pics, as is the case with 98% of the pics on the blog. i agree that she is quite amazing, especially with composition and conveying emotion in pics. She is a pretty emotional person in general, which may not be the best thing for her nerves but it seems to really help when it comes to photography.
LOVE lida
Beautiful photos, how did you find this castle…gorgeous…
My mom and I were just lazily walking around the Boldt Castle grounds (in the Thousands islands) and we saw this interesting looking tower that all of the tourists seemed to ignore. It turned out to be quite a find.
I missed reading your comments Robin
. So nice to be back!
LOVE Lida
