Some readers have been asking me to write about how I do my eye makeup and I think the time has come for me to address this question. Personally, I don’t think there is anything particularly exceptional about my application techniques or my choice of colours because I usually just strive for a “clean and simple” effect. I begin by applying a light base of powder eye shadow (by Teye Minerals) on the eye lid from lash line up to eye crease using an all over shadow brush (by Quo). I then use my fingers to apply a cream eye tint (by Becca) to blend a deeper shade into the crease and slightly above it. I use a Becca brow shaping gel for the eye-brows and a Kiehl’s Marvelous Mineral Mascara for the lashes, which is pretty amazing actually. When I go out, I use Becca’s eye powder control brush to apply Becca’s powder shimmer eyeshadow (in Organza colour; almost white) to the bottom-inside corner of the eye and underneath the brow. This really makes the eyes pop.
Basically I just use a a light pearly colour as the base and add a slightly goldish, creamy colour for the crease, black mascara, and a brow shaping gel. Hope this was helpful.
*I will be posting the Dolce & Gabbana dress giveaway tomorrow. Can’t wait!!!

Thanks Anna
Shades of Purple looks amazing on you. I always love your bags. Where would one get bags as beautiful as yours?
I get my bags all over the place. Some on ebay, some at Holt Renfrew (Toronto), etc. I like to get an interesting accessory every time I travel, sort of like a souvenir, and the collection kind of accumulates with time.
Thanks for your feedback Trishna,
Love Lida
Such a lovely purple colour! And I was actually wondering how you did your makeup at night, glad I know now!

I'm glad you found the post to be helpful and thanks for your feedback dear Alexandra.
Lida, this is when I go speechless. Kind of the same overwhelming feeling as Christina has probably. (She just couldn't put enough exclamation marks
. This color looks astounding on you! Just, wow! What color are the heels? I can't tell from the pictures.
Oh thank you Vicky, you are so sweet
. It's always such a pleasure to read your comments.
The colour of the heels is sort of a deep brown, with a slightly purplish hue.
Love Lida
I'm so glad you made this post about eye make-up!!! Unfortunately, I can't find Becca products in my hometown.
Oh that sucks…but I can't really say that it surprises me thought because unfortunately Becca is not yet widely distributed (i think). You could probably get the same effect though with similar colours of different brands. Just think pearly at the base and sort of peachy-goldish in the crease.
Love Lida
I love this color on your and LOVE the shoes!!!!
Thanks so much dear Robin. But I have to say, those shoes are NOT made for walking. After wearing them for about 15 minutes yesterday I quickly realized that they are strictly “in and out of the car” type of shoes – not too comfortable. I might have to bring them in to have them stretch a little (lol, again).
shadowplay is the name of a joy division song ha ha.
where are you taking these shots?
I love this look, it reminds me of the whole sexy chic Deborah Harry brought out in the early 80's when she was smoking hot as “Blondie”.
