The Revolve shoot was an interesting but insanely tiring experience. The idea was to have the four chosen bloggers style and model five outfits each for the Revolve summer guide. As soon as the guide is launched on their site I’ll post the pictures here and tell you the stories behind each look.
This little silk number is what I wore to the shoot. Because of its precarious length, I’m still not sure whether to categorize it as a long top or a short dress but indeterminate length is nothing to fear. My general approach to such pieces is to wear them as dresses with short shorts underneath – allowing me to feel comfortable without having to distort the silhouette of the garment or impose any kind of unnecessary heaviness (i.e. wearing it as a long top over jeans or leggings).
I only have a few more days left in California, so I’m off to the beach. Have an amazing day everyone!
What I’m wearing:
- Silk top/dress by “twenty8twelve”
- Nude heels by “Elie Tahari” (last seen in June 4’10)
- Necklace by “Ben-Amun” (last seen in June 4’10)
- Cashmere cardigan by “Julie & Jack” (last seen in Mar. 19’10)
- Chunky chain ring by “Luc Kieffer” (last seen in June 4’10)
- Vintage inspired leather purse by “Etienne Aigner” (last seen in June 4’10)
- Vintage belt (last seen in June 4’10)
- High-waisted shorts from “French Connection” (last seen in June 4’10)

Hello beautiful. You might be on the beach as I am writting this, so enjoy the sun:)
Just wanted to say that you look amazing and maybe, if you are nice enough, you could post a photo of those short shorts or at leas tell me what fabric are they made of, as I seem not to find the perfect pair for me.
Happy weekend!
Dear Ruxandra,
Sorry it took me so long to respond to your question but I was a bit busy in LA and didn't get so spend much time online. The shorts are actually the same ones as in the “40s shorts on rodeo” post. They are made of cotton and have practically no stretch to them. These shorts are really high-waisted and short. To be honest, I don't think that they are the 'perfect' pair of white shorts because they are not very comfortable. I would recommend something with a bit of stretch because otherwise form-fitting shorts like these feel too confining in the summer. Let me know if you have any more questions.
P.S. I still plan on making that “basis” post you asked for. Sorry it's taking me so long but I definitely haven't forgotten about it.
Love Lida
I love how you accessorized this outfit, very nice…
Thanks Robin!
I love this look. It drew me in. The colors, the proportions … just lovely. When I see a style I love, I get inspired and try to recreate it. Thank you!
I've chosen this for the D&B contest entry because of the reasons I mentioned above.
Thank you so much Didi and good luck in the draw!
