Did you feel that earthquake today? I didn’t… Another question for my dear readers. What are the most fashionable uniforms out there? Some may argue in favor of astronauts, nurses, or police men, but I stick with our oh-so-sexy firefighters. Their uniforms really are pretty fashion foreword, with those suspenders, padded pants and jackets, and not to mention…the hoses.
Did any of you ever have to wear a uniform? If so, did you hate it or what?
My first job was at a concession stand of a movie theatre in Ottawa and I can still remember that horrid, cheese-smelling uniform like I was wearing it yesterday.
What I’m wearing:
- Silk overalls by “Joie”
- Pumps by “L.A.M.B” (last seen in Mar. 17’10)
- Silk blouse by “Milly” (last seen in June 22’10)
- Vintage-inspired bra by “The Lake & Stars”
- Turbanesque headband by ”PRADA” (last seen in Jan. 15’10)
- Zebra ring by “Club Monaco” (last seen in June 7’10)
- Plastic flower ring (I bought it in Cuba for one convertible peso) (last seen in Apr. 29’10)
- 3 onyx bangles (last seen in Jan. 15’10)

Love the overalls and yes, I felt the earthquake!! I was scared actually and also posted about it

Oh really? Sorry to hear that. I know that in some part of Ontario it was pretty bad – furniture shaking and everything.
Thanks for commenting,

Oh I love this outfit. It's SOOOO cute.
You are my only friend in Canada. Haha. So I came over to your blog and check if you are alright. Glad you felt nothing.
I experienced one of the biggest earthquake in China in 1976, which killed at least 240,000 people. It was devastating.
When I heard about the earthquake, guess whose name crossed my mind? Lida, yours.
Anyways, inspired by your post, I decided to post a picture of me and 3 classmates in college in military training. I found the photo recently and never thought that could be a fashion statement.
You are so sweet Vicky. It was so nice for you to think of me
. It's also so cool that my post inspired your post, and the uniform pic you put up was so adorable.

Hi, my is Joannie, your new fan, I am Rafael Sanchez friend, he told me about, and I love your outfit, where i can buy it.
Hi Joannie,
Thanks for becoming a fan and welcome! I bought most of the pieces in this look from Holt Renfrew in Toronto but if you are in New York like Rafael, you should maybe try Century 21 or Saks.
Love Lida
Such a cute outfit on you!
Thanks dear Robin
.
Really, you got to shoot this with firefighters? So jealous! I have an obsession with them…they can be old, young, balding, whatever. Needless to say I spend lots of time wandering around outside the firehall…
Well my first job was at Cobs Bread, and they made me wear a bonnet and white sack pants. So horrible!

Lol, you're funny. Firefighters are the best!

Oh I can imagine…that must have been painful. I think that's worse then my Famous Players uniform

cute pictures, I love the first the most. Yes I did wear uniform I was First Lieutenant in the German Airforce and it made me proud so I did wear that uniform with pride and dignity.
Wow. Thank you for sharing that with us. It's nice that you brought in a different perspective to the whole discussion on uniforms.

I'm going to have to second the love for firefighters! My boyfriend is going to BC for firefighter training next summer, but no bias… promise
I did feel the earthquake the other day, it was honestly the weirdest feeling! I was absolutely convinced I was losing it until other people ran out of their offices in a tizzy from the excitement of an earthquake in Toronto. I was in Markham at the time, whereabouts in Toronto were you?
Oh lucky girl!!!! Firefighters are the best. You were in Markham….I lived there for 6 years before moving to TO and I was just there yesterday, doing some strawberry pickin.'
I was driving with a friend when the earthquake happen and we didn't feel anything at all. I kind of feel like we missed out a little even though I probably would have been pretty freaked out by it.
Do you work in Markham?
