I was called in to work on Tuesday to do photo-doubling for Naomi Watts. For those of you who are not familiar with what that would entail, the idea is basically to make me look as similar to the actress as possible. For example, in the event that there wasn’t enough time to shoot wide shots of a scene or they need close up on hands or legs, they call me. While in hair/make-up truck, the only major change was the wig and the wild lipstick. As you can see in the pictures, Naomi’s costume was relatively simple; black skinny pants and a pink cashmere turtleneck. I’m not sure if I would ever wear these pieces in this combination because, quite honestly, it’s a little boring and banal – not an unusual way of describing the work of the wardrobe departments on set.
The weather in Toronto is quickly improving; most of the snow has melted and on Tuesday the temperature was about 13 C. Needless to say, I was thoroughly enjoying the sunshine and couldn’t get enough of the freedoms it allowed – mainly the choice of spending time in the fresh air….lol, what a luxury. Anyway, as I was soaking in this beautiful, spring feeling it was quickly crushed when I stepped into the studio. The set was dressed for winter…what irony

- Skinny black pants by “J Brand”
- Cashmere turtleneck
- Simple long-sleeve undershirt
- Leather boots (the ones in the picture are mine; I changed back into them with every chance) (as seen in Nov. 23′09, Mar. 10’10)
Are you filming Dream House, where Naomi plays the killer next door?
Yeah it is Dream House actually. Do you work in the industry too? How did you know?
As far as I know her X-husband is the killer though…but I might be wrong.
Well, its the only film that Naomi is working on at the moment plus its a predicable premise, unfortunately.The ghost haunting the house are trying to warn the family of the danger next door. Plus i think Naomi’s role is small compared to her co stars, judging by the fact that Her Co stars are seen more in the Canadian press that she has been, which Naomi has been more seen in New York.
There is a long record of Canadian media slighting Ms. Watts so there should be no surprise.
Why would the Canadian media want to slight Ms Watts?
That’s what I was thinking.
Anyway, getting back to what i was saying. The reason i think Naomi has a small role is the fact that she’s been seen more in New York than on the set. I could be wrong there but that’s my observation.

Well filmmakers are known for applying the same formula to one project after another. Take a basic plot and moderate it just enough not to draw too much attention to how banal it really is, sprinkle in a few recognizable actors and call it a Blockbuster.
You’re right, which is a shame because a little originality can go a long way. I mean you have a great cast of respected actors in this film and the secret of the story can be seen a mile away.
