It’s the international day of love and another perfect reason for fashionistas to dress up in something beautiful. To celebrate, I decided to come to Montreal, Quebec for the long weekend. Aside from the fact that Montreal is more fun than Toronto and that its European-esque scenery is more conducive to the celebration of Valentine’s Day (being more romantic that is), Montreal has some amazing little restaurants that are worth driving five hours for. My absolute favorite restaurant here is Au Pied de Cochon on 536 Duluth Ave. It’s extremely difficult to get a reservation (especially on days like these) but after trying their food you quickly realize why. It’ll make you fall in love all over again!

A Lovely Weekend
I just came back from having a day of fabric searching on Queen Street. A friend of mine, Liliana, had this interesting idea of us designing and making dresses together as a hobby – sort of an extension of my already existing fashion obsession. I think it’s beginning to consume my life
…what do you guys think? What started as an appreciation for beautiful things has metamorphosed into the hobby of (a) collecting them, (b) blogging about them, (c) and now making them. It’s exiting though because we’re full of design ideas and this creative process is adding a new dimension to my appreciation for “the art of it all.”
A Dress Like No Other
I’m on my way out to a play at the Factory theatre. I will let you know how it went in tomorrow’s post. This is the look I put together for tonight.
Violet Throughout
Do you know what my favourite feature of the current fashion era is…its return to femininity. Unfortunately we haven’t yet recovered from the grunge and excessive casualness of the 90s but I think, in the past decade, we’ve made huge leaps into the realm of the beautiful and the romantic. Only now, paradoxically, dressing feminine has become an almost rebellious act. Most “street style” conscious fashionistas still equate messy or misfit with the fashionable; however, in the world of couture something much softer and refined is flourishing. I fully embrace these currents in high-fashion and today’s look-of-the-day is my humble token of appreciation for the aesthetic harmony and femininity designers are inducing into their collections. Being a girl is fun again..we are finally being reinstated to the position of princesses of the world

I was asked a question recently in relation to sequin dresses and I thought that it might be helpful for me to answer it on the blog. This was the message from one of my YouTube subscribers : “I want to wear a silver clingy, one shoulder sequin dress, but I hate my legs. Would be okay if I wore tall leather boots instead of pumps?”
