I am officially contemplating going away on a vacation soon, and along with these exciting thoughts comes a new phase in this blog. Early next week I will be publishing the first episode of a three-part series on vacation related topics. Travelling is one of my biggest passions and I could easily make this a ten part series, but I’ll try to practice moderation and be as concise as possible. Stay tuned for this new development and I will tell you everything you need to know about getting the most out of a resort vacation, while being fabulous the whole time through.

When going out last night I felt like wearing something coquettish and feminine, so I wore a silk top with a high-waisted bubble skirt. But when putting the look together, it felt like the two pieces alone weren’t enough. I wanted to give it an edge and that wow-factor; I basically needed a statement piece to complete it. I chose the Mawi necklace for this task for a number of reasons: (a) its shape is complementary to the neckline of the top, (b) the colour pallete of the two pieces are in harmony, and (c) the necklace is so gorgeous that its impossible to resist.

What is your favourite fashion era? While hypothetical questions of this nature require a bit of imaginative energy, stopping to consider it may help inspire and guide future style experimentation. Admittedly, coming up with a definite answer might be problematic because most of us appreciate separate phases of multiple eras, which is okay. I think that as long as the process of inquiry begins, the creative seed is planted and will inevitably flourish into something fabulous and original.
