Military style meets Bohemian

Military style meets Bohemian

Today’s look-of-the-day features a fusion of styles and inspirations. I put this together by first determining what piece I wanted to wear most. This Stella McCartney, military style wool jacket sprang to mind; its silhouettes possesses elements of strictness and rigidity while the pinkish lace trim softens it with a feminine flare. I love wearing this jacket with a dress, which further dissipates its primness and reserve. In this case I paired it with a cashmere turtleneck dress. In selecting accessories, the colour pallet narrowed the options down to a manageable group. One of its contenders was the coffee-bean necklace I showed you in the Cashmere Dresses video (when speaking about the same Autumn Cashmere dress). I ruled it out because I wanted to experiment and  to me this was an obvious choice. Hence, the pair of Eskandar necklaces – true works of art.

These necklaces had been hand carved in Brazil by sculptor Klaus Schneider. They were inspired by the famous cured lines of the Copacabana sidewalk and are a replica of his large scale works. Made from sustainable Brazilian cedar, the rich dark colour is achieved through a process of scorching and polishing (info made available by Eskandar).

Talk about Fashion Art :)
